GOVT RE-LAUNCH LAPTOP SCHEME THIS YEAR' ANNOUNCES SAPM |
Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced that the federal government will relaunch the laptop scheme for youth this year under the Prime Minister's Youth Programme.
Speaking to the media, he said that under this scheme, 100,000 laptops will be given to the youth this year.
Lamenting that the previous government had stopped the scheme, the Prime Minister said the laptops provided under the Youth Program had enabled the youth to continue their education and work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Princess Fatima said the government has also launched the National Innovation Award to promote entrepreneurial culture among the youth.
In February this year, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the federal government would distribute 100,000 laptops among high-achieving youth just to help them succeed.
He said, critics of the laptop scheme in the past should witness how laptops help the youth to survive, especially during the COVID pandemic.
