ATTEMPTS BEING MADE TO 'CRUSH,PTI PRETEXT Of MAY 9 ARSON: IMRAN KHAN |
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday claimed
that attempts were being made to "crush his party" on the pretext of the May 9
events in which military installations including Jinnah House in Lahore were
attacked, ARY News reported.

Addressing party workers and supporters, the former prime minister slammed
the federal government for "imposing the law of the jungle" in the country,
saying fundamental rights had been removed.
While condemning the events that happened on May 9 – the day he was arrested
at Al-Qadir Trust, Imran Khan asked who would not condemn these incidents.
The PTI chief said he was first brought to the notice of the May 9
protests by the Chief Justice during a hearing in the Supreme Court. "Who
does not judge? Did we ever say we don't judge? Will anyone want their own
army to be weak?”
He claimed that there was a crackdown on his party across Pakistan without
investigating the burning of the Corps Commander's house in Lahore - also
known as Jinnah House.
"Attempts were made to crush Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the pretext
of May 9 events," added the former prime minister.
Khan questioned why his party workers and supporters were being arrested
everywhere when the Corps Commander's house was burnt only in Lahore.
"What do the people of Karachi have to do with it?" Why are you catching
people elsewhere?” he asked.
He further said that forced divorces are happening in Pakistan now and
added that politicians were forced to leave PTI. "The party is believed to
be weakened by these actions," he said.
Imran Khan noted that his offers for talks were rejected and only called
for stronger action against his party. He promised to fight till his last
breath for real freedom in the country.
'Economic Performance'
Imran Khan slammed the federal government for its 'failed economic policy'
and said the country was hurtling towards hyperinflation.
“The dollar has touched 308 rupees in the open market,” he said, asking
why the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was not interested. "We should
understand that if we don't fix it, the situation will get out of
everyone's hands," he warned.
Khan pointed out that at the time of his ouster, the country's foreign
reserves were $16 billion and today they are $4.5 billion. “The country's
exports declined by 13 percent during PDM's tenure,” he noted.

He further said that Pakistan is heading towards destruction. "They (the
governing coalition) have no plan. The more time you spend, the more the
country experiences decline,” he added.
“Conditions were less [threatening] in Sri Lanka when its people took to
the streets. Why haven't people come out yet? Because they hope for
elections," he claimed.
The former prime minister said that their plan for the elections is when
Imran Khan is crushed and he is crushed.
"PTI Won't End"
Imran Khan urged the nation and his party workers to show patience and
said that people who will be forced to leave the party will not end it.
“The party ends when his vision ends. The PDM parties are ahead of you,
the electoral commission and the administration are with them, so why are
they afraid of elections? because their vote bank is over,” he claimed.
On the other hand, he said that PTI's vote bank keeps increasing the more
"injustices they do" .
